Zydeco Dance Steps / Lifts on 1 & 5

This is done in the open position where on the 1st count you lift your foot up in the air a few inches instead of the normal weight changes of putting your weight on that foot. Then continue doing normal weight changes on steps 2, 3 & 4. On the 5th count you left your foot up again, and then step down on it for the 6th count, the 7th and 8th count are normal zydeco small rock step.

This move is done best with the hand toss, so when your lifting your foot up on the 1st count, is when your tossing the follows hand. When the lead is lifting their foot on the 5th count is when your grabbing your partners hand again.

Of course these are open position moves so there is not lead and follow, you just do these on your own when the inspiration hits you ;)
