Zydeco
Dance Steps / Partner Toss
This move
is another way to go from Closed position to Open position. The first
5 beats are normal Zydeco, on the 6th beat the lead will give his partner
a little push which will cause his partner and himself to step back
on the 7th count for a rock step. The lead will step back a little bit
toward his right side as he will open up a track track that he is going
to pull and direct his partner to walk on by his left arm.
The lead drops his left hand after the 7th count (which was holding
his partners hand), pull's his partner by his left shoulder on the 1st
count as he turns 180 degrees CW while doing the basic weight changes
and reconnects with his partner in the open position.
Lead:
1(L), 2(L), 3(R), 4(L), 5(R), 6(R, push gals right hand with your left
hand on 6), 7(L, step back and to the right to open up track for gal
to walk through on), 8(R, pull her back and direct her by your left
shoulder while you step onto your left foot on the 1st count and continue
with normal Zydeco weight changes as you turn 180 degrees CW to reconnect
with her in the open position)
The dance step definition above is where the "1(L)" means
that on the 1st beat of music your weight should be on your left or
(L) foot, on the 2nd beat of music your weight should be on your left
foot, the 3rd beat of music the leads weight is on his right foot etc...
Follow:
1(R), 2(R), 3(L), 4(R), 5(L), 6(L, you will feel the push of the guys
right left hand indicating for you to do a step back or rock step on
the 7th count), 7(R, step back and he will probably drop your right
hand on this count), 8(L, he will pull your back with his right hand
and direct you to walk by his left shoulder where you will just start
walking doing the normal Zydeco weight changes and turn either CW or
CCW to reconnect with him by the 7th count)
The
dance step definition above is where the "1(L)" means that
on the 1st beat of music your weight should be on your left or (L) foot,
on the 2nd beat of music your weight should be on your left foot, the
3rd beat of music the leads weight is on his right foot etc...
